Trains (a study)

I like trains. I like ambient noise. In this piece, I wanted to see if I could recreate the impending arrival of a train…but make it seem creepy. Since 99% of creepiness in motion pictures is built through the soundtrack, you’ve got to make sure you watch this with external speakers or headphones…laptop speakers just won’t cut it.

That said, if I were to criticize my own work, which I am, the piece builds up but never quite delivers. However, it was super fun to follow trains around, shoot video, sound, and get the creepy part down. Next time, I’ll work on making the creepiness deliver a creepy wallop!
