I’m fascinated by Good Vibrations by The Beach Boys. In addition to being absurdly multi-layered and complex, every few bars a new instrument comes in, only to leave a few bars later, which is rare to find in music compositions, usuall. Yet, somehow, the song works as a whole and is a brilliant pop song on a very superficial level.

So…I decided to experiment…to see if I could reduce Good Vibrations to the bare basics and transpose the song into ambient suburban sounds. Why? because sounds of suburbs also interweave to form an intriguing whole. Why the suburbs? Well, as much as I love the city, I’m fascinated by the suburbs as being something uniquely American. I could go on forever about them, but I won’t.
